Folgate Safety offer a one stop shop for your fire maintenance testing services.

When in attendance we aim to fix or repair first time – saving you on repeat call out charges.

Our expertise has been focused on fire engineering and maintenance – repairing and renovating rather than replacing and disposing.

Our aim is to build relationships with existing customers – educate them and assist through the complicated area of fire safety.

The legal starting place for fire safety management is your fire risk assessment, from there your priorities are identified and remedial actions agreed.

We also offer fire hydrant testing, sprinkler maintenance, dry / wet riser maintenance and deal with smart / intelligent detection systems / CCTV.

In England and Wales, if you’re an employer, owner, landlord or occupier of business or other non-domestic premises, YOU are responsible for fire safety and are known as the ‘responsible person’.

As the responsible person there are certain things you must do by law under the Fire Safety Order, which is enforced by your local Fire and Rescue service. The Fire Safety Order also applies if you have paying guests – eg if you run a bed and breakfast, guest house or let self-catering property.

The ‘responsible person’ must:

  • carry out and regularly review fire risk assessments
  • tell staff and/or their representatives about the risks you’ve identified
  • put in place, and maintain, adequate and appropriate fire safety measures
  • plan for an emergency
  • provide staff information, fire safety instruction and training

Let us help you with your fire risk assessments

By undertaking your fire risk assessment we act as the ‘competent person’ – advising and assisting you – the responsible person.

Avoid fines, prison and harm

Local fire and rescue authorities inspect premises and can issue fire safety notices telling you about changes you might need to make to your premises.

If you don’t follow fire safety regulations you could get fined and/or go to prison.
