Detectors are used to detect smoke, heat or CO2 in conventional or addressable fire alarm systems in buildings or other premises as an early warning of fire. Detectors can also come fitted with an alarm sounder and/or visual signalling. Types of detectors include smoke detectors, heat detectors, combined detectors and multi-criteria detectors where both smoke and heat can be detected from the same unit. Wireless detectors are also available that make installation easier and quicker.
